He's Here!!

Peyton Conrad Deese arrived March 24, 2010 at 8:22 am
He weighed 8.18 lbs and was 19 3/4 inch tall!!
I had him via c-section, which was more elective, due to non progression with pregnancy. After the surgery the doc emphasized that this was a great choice given he was still floating really high and he didn't think that the induction that following Monday would have worked. I would have been a c anyways.....he also stated that his head was rather large and that would have caused some damage down below.....sheesh!
Of course we took ALOT of pictures mainly due to both of our families being out of state, but I just chose a few over the past week to share - still alot!

Pic right before we go into the OR - 3/24

Conrad's bed! Haha! Since he's the CFO of the sister hospital there were many people making sure we were okay. The only thing was that people would make fun of Conrad asleep on this rock hard love seat!! HAHA! So many people said "we should really get him a bed".....nothing haha! But Conrad did not notice - he slept away without disruption each night safe and sound on this rock hard love seat :) what a trooper!

Peyton - Day 3 - time to go home

Dr Watterson coming to do his last check up on us and discharge!

Going home! Ya know after a "c" they have these rules like no driving, no lifting, etc, etc....well I was carrying him on the way out and Conrad was toting all the crap on the cart.....So I made a joke to the ladies at the desk on the way out and in the corner of my eye there's my doc! I thought I was busted and I'd be in trouble....he just yelled "now that's a pain free c-section! Good job!" So I replied "It was your knife! Great job to you!!"
Conrad's parents were the 1st visitors! They were already down in FL visiting my brother in law who is at the hospital we started at here in FL outside of Orlando. So they came over to help out for a couple of days. The freezer is STOCKED!

Samantha and Danielle Owens drove all the way over from Winter Haven to take his 1st pictures that day as well!! We are so excited that these girls were available to do it! They are the same back alley photography gals that took our pics right before we left Celebration.

My special helpers.....these puppies LOVE mr. peyton!! They follow us everywhere....make sure I'm nursing appropriately and check in on him every now and then to make sure he's okay. It's really sweet to see how protective they are of him already. I will admit that Oscar, the younger one, did think he was a toy when we 1st brought him home....he tried to snip on his diaper and pull him gently away from me....just like when he steals things from Darla!!! Very stealth-like....HAHA! It was funny. We are still keeping a close eye on these relationships as you never know what'll happen.

He's really great in the morning - wide eyed and looking around....

They say....mommy needs to sleep when the baby does....so I did

and they did as well.....they LOVE to sunbathe in our home and will follow the sun shadows all day!
All in all we are doing great. I really don't have much pain, only one spot on my abdomen which lets me know it's there when I get up wrong...I know the choice to do the "c" was the right one!
Conrad's parents went home yesterday morning and my parents arrive tonight and are staying for about a week and 1/2!
